Another year down!
Jan 5, 2009

So another year has passed us by, and believe it or not, I did NOT reach my Goals I set for myself a year ago. However a lot has happened in the course of a year. I lost my dog, left my boyfriend, almost lost my job (business has been slow), and I moved. I also restarted smoking again ( I know HORRID habit), and I quit going to the gym. Oh yes and I started dating someone new-which meant we went out on dates...ALOT (actually we went out to dinner every night for the first 2 months of our relationship).

So where am I now? Well Last week (PRE-NEW YEARS) I was a whopping 207!! I watched what I ate and worked out last week and managed to drop down to 206-which at least I could pencil in a loss for the week. My goals are unchanged, I want to hit my original goal of 160. It seems SO LONG ago that I set out to change my life, and boy did I change it! I would have to say I am much happier now than I have been in almost my entire life. I am more content with myself...although the 20lbs I have gained in the past year and a half is NOT making me happy.

So what excatly are my goals now? I am going to be sticking to 5lb increments, and setting "prizes" as I reach each goal. My first "prize" is going to be a weekend trip to the snow for some fun flying down the slopes. That was J's Christmas present to me, he rented a house in Lake Tahoe and we went there over Christmas break....so I had a White Christmas, AND I got to go skiing for the first time in 6 years! I had SO MUCH FUN, anyway we are planning on heading back to the mountains in 2 weeks-so I HAVE to get on board right away. Ideally I will be 199 or less by January 16th- THAT would make me feel proud! Of course I am looking to drop about 45 lbs so I will need to come up with more prizes...my next one is a pedicure-as in I CAN'T have a pedicure UNTIL I hit 190...so for the next month or so-I am all set.

Ah yes one last thing...I have been HORRIBLE about maintaining my food journal. Once upon a time I was dilligent, but lately I havent had anything good to list in (between going out for dinner & drinks every night and NOT working out). I really think maintaining a food/excercise journal keeps me on track-unfortunately since I have been seeing J I have been away from computers more and more once I am off of work. I don't really FEEL like pulling out my laptop every night, and I don't bother using HIS laptop....so I need to figure out a good solution to my problem.

So here are my goals for the New Year:
1)Reach my "healthy weight" of 164lbs
2)Maintain my food/excercise journal
3)Workout a minimum of 3 days per week
4)Go to NYC for New Years 2010

I know not all of my goals are related to weight-loss but I figured I should list out all of my goals that I am setting for myself. I will ALSO try to maintain my blog, since I feel that all the support I get here is VERY helpful! However time has been lacking. I have been spending almost all of my free time with J-since it has been the holidays we have had parties to attend, and family to meet, and places to go....etc etc. I have just had SUCH a busy 4 months! Now I am still relatively busy, but I need to remember my weight is just going to go up unless I DO SOMETHING. Now is the time to do something about it! I can't allow a busy social life, and a high-stress work life get the best of me this year.

So far today I have been good with my eating-all I've had was a cup of whole grain cereal with fat free milk, and a fat free mocha (16 oz). Lunch is going to be a South Beach Diet meal, and some applesauce. I have no idea what I am having for dinner, but I should figure that out soon (I don't like trying to decide what to eat when Im hungry). I will be working out tonight after work as well, but I wont be hitting the gym tonight. The beginning of the year the gym is PACKED with people, and I haven't gone in a few months anyway. I will be using a DVD at home for this week-that or the ON DEMAND workouts are pretty good too.

Well thats all for now, wish me luck!
